We”re nominated for British Signs Awards with a scheme for another graphics body!

We’re delighted to announce that we’ve been shortlisted for this year’s ISA British Sign Awards. The awards recognise and reward outstanding work completed by UK-based sign makers over the last 12 months. Ironically, we’ve been nominated for a scheme that they created for a different organisation that is also involved in the promotion of signage and print industry! We provided a transformation of FESPAs atrium and other areas at their head office in Dorking.

The project was challenging since FESPA has a very broad community. We had to portray the far-ranging disciples that included textiles printers, garment decorators, POS printers, screen-print, signage companies and industrial printers. To reflect this wide range of disciplines we adopted a multi-faceted approach. Highlights included creating built-up stainless-steel letters for the logo at the entrance using FESPAs colours in the relief to creating individual mobile sculptures where there were restrictions to application of graphics to the glass facades. To reflect the global nature of the body we designed and printed a wallpaper where all the FESPA member countries could be listed and since depth had been a motif throughout the project, the company chose to make them look cut-out.

‘It’s fantastic to have had our work that we did for one printing and graphics body to be recognised by another body that also operates in a similar visual branding space’, stated HNS Signs Managing Director, Michelle Henry. ‘It shows a really non-partisan approach to acknowledging exemplary work wherever it’s executed, and we applaud the ISAs very inclusive approach, ‘added Henry.

The British Sign Awards are now in their seventh year and has become an important forum that showcases for UK creative talent, technological skills, engineering abilities and craftsmanship that contribute to making UK sign making the envy of the world. Following the affiliation of the BSGA (formerly the British Sign and Graphics Association) with the USA-based International Sign Association (ISA) the Awards, this year are being organised by ISA-UK.
