The client had bought an old London Bus and asked us if we could wrap it on a budget. As a start-up company, money was tight and the cost to wrap it using a vehicle wrap was out of the question.
As most of the panels were flat and as there was no vehicle template for the bus, we worked with the graphic designer to create a patchwork of separate images which were placed onto the vinyl in the most economic way to ensure reduced costs for the client. These were then printed and cut on our Roland XR640.
It's a Wrap
We also substituted wrapping vinyl with a 7 year polymeric vinyl to save further money.
By having the vinyls cut separately, we could position the decals where they needed to go. A wrap would not allow us to do this, so if a vent or a panel was not where it should be then the design would be ruined.
Many of the trees were 4m x 3m so the sections were still on the large side.
We wrapped the bus in three working days…and in the rain as the added height of the sky lights prevented us from bringing it indoors.
